Posted by on Feb 12, 2014 in Desserts, Drinks/smoothies | 0 comments

Sahlab is a well known drink/dessert in the Arab world. It’s a thinner version of milk pudding or (Muhalabeya) and it’s so easy to make. You will need to know how many servings you need, so you have enough for everyone. (Hubby and I always take seconds and the kids wait for it to cool off first then eat as pudding in bowls) Per serving, you will need 1 cup milk. For each cup of milk add 1 tbsp each starch and sugar. Ingredients ( 4 servings with a bit extra) 6 cups milk 6 tbsp starch 6 tbsp sugar 1 tsp vanilla (optional) Whisk the starch in the cold milk, then add into a pot on medium heat. You must keep stirring with a whisk or wooden spoon so the bottom doesn’t burn. It will take a good...

I had some fruit sitting waiting to be devoured. So i decided to juice them. Pineapple orange juice, makes 1 liter 1 pineapple, skin off, rind out, cubed 3 oranges, peeled. Add to juicer and juice away! Beats anything in a store bought box or bottle. Serve with ice, or store in a mason jar to keep fresh for a couple days. Try to use the sweetest fruits you can find for maximum flavor Share this:ShareFacebookPinterestEmailTwitterPrintLike this:Like...

Green Ginger Ale juice

Posted by on May 5, 2013 in Drinks/smoothies, LoaMP | 0 comments

This was actually pretty good. I got the original recipe here. I used the following items: 3 green apples, cored 2 leaves of romaine lettuce 2 mini cucumbers 1″ peeled ginger root Half a lemon It was sweet enough for me, and I can have a sweet tooth sometimes. my husband drank a cup because he was feeling ill, and said he saw immediate detoxing/cleansing effects. So hey, whatever works! I didn’t see the same effects he did. But I have been running to the restroom a bit more often than usual ever since I started juicing. Strawberry Kiwi juice

Posted by on May 5, 2013 in Drinks/smoothies, LoaMP | 0 comments

I had a ton of strawberries I had got on sale earlier in the week. So I looked up some recipes to see what’s the best way to juice them. Ended up making up my own recipe 2 lb strawberries 4 kiwi fruit 2 apples ( for more sweetness add more sweet fruits like apples or pears) I peeled the kiwi, unstemmed the strawberries and cores the apples. Juice and serve The strawberries I used were not the sweetest in town so this turned out a bit tangy. Try to use the sweetest fruit you can find for best results. Store in air tight jars to preserve freshness, or just serve immediately because it tastes better fresh Share this:ShareFacebookPinterestEmailTwitterPrintLike this:Like...
