Hearty No-drain spaghetti with Crockpot recipe

Posted by on Sep 10, 2013 in LoaMP, Main Course, Snack ideas/ kid friendly | 0 comments

Very easy, very versatile, very yummy spaghetti recipe. No precooking spaghetti or draining and boiling here! One pot does the whole job. Use any veggies you may have in the fridge, now that I think of it, kale and spinach would be a nice addition. You can also use any kind of ground meat as well, I’m guessing ground chicken would give it a different flavor. Also you can form into meatballs, my husband would’ve preferred that! Use any pasta sauce flavors you like. It’s your dish after al!! This can also be used for any shape of pasta as well. Ok enough talking, lets get to it! Ingredients: 1 box whole wheat spaghetti or linguine 2 24oz jars pasta sauce 1 lb ground meat (used beef) 1/2 bag frozen mixed vegetables 1 large zucchini, diced 1 large onion,...

Walnut Oreo Balls

Posted by on Jul 27, 2013 in Desserts, LoaMP, Snack ideas/ kid friendly | 0 comments

I made these white chocolate Oreo balls last week.. They were a hit, but I didn’t fully indulge in them. I felt something was missing. I like me some crunch… And the white chocolate wasn’t doing it for me. So I enhanced the recipe 😀 1 package Oreos 1 package cream cheese, cold 1 bag milk chocolate chips, (used Hershey’s) 1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts 1/4 cup whole macadamia nuts/hazelnuts Some finely chopped walnuts for garnish. 1- put Oreos in food processor, blend til fine like dirt. Add the cream cheese and pulse until all the “dough” forms in one ball. Mix in the 1/2 cup walnuts. 2- form into bite size balls, add one macadamia nut or hazelnut into the middle. Form a perfectly round ball, or not. Good practice for the kids. 3- once you are done,...

White Chocolate Covered Oreo balls

Posted by on Jul 22, 2013 in Desserts, LoaMP, Snack ideas/ kid friendly | 2 comments

I used the recipe someone posted yesterday on the FB Group Page; “What’s cooking good looking”. (Btw, that group is addicting, email me if you want to join it, very helpful Arab-American foodie community) Ingredients: 1 package Oreos 1 block cream cheese 1 bag chocolate chips Blend the Oreos in a food processor, then add the cream cheese and blend again til mixed well. Form, by hand, into small balls. (I made mine the size of key limes) it made about 30. Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave using 30 second intervals. Repeat 3 times. Dunk each ball into the melted chocolate, with a spoon scoop it up, remove excess from under spoon, then with a thin skewer or tooth pick or fork, slide it gently off the spoon and onto a plate covered in plastic wrap. If...
