Organizing for baby, limited space, limited budget

Posted by on Jan 21, 2014 in Childhood, Organization | 0 comments

If you haven’t already heard the news, we are expecting our third child in May! A baby girl! Still not used to the term “my girls”, feels so unreal. Anyways, I’m so used to having everything set as it is in the house. So adding a little one with all her belongings (which is tons) isn’t that easy. Thankfully this time around, we got lucky since my daughter Sara has the bigger closet, we were able to have the room for her to share some space with her future sister. I decided I wanted to keep the baby’s clothing in the same system I have set up now for the kids. So I bought her her own cubby with drawers, and thankfully they both fit inside the closet! Yay! So the girls will split the closet in half. Her...

How to Organize your Hijabs on a budget…

Posted by on Aug 28, 2013 in Beauty/fashion, LoaMP, Organization | 4 comments

Hi, My name is Samantha, and I’m a shopping addict. When it comes to clothes and sales, I can’t hold back! Being a tad bit scarf-deprived in the US just adds to the problem. You see, scarves weren’t really that abundant here, And not many color options. Hijabs are actually a bit easier to find now a days. Especially in the summertime. But  if you do find them, they are usually within the $10-15 each range. Whats a girl on a budget to do? You learn to grab a deal when you see one. and sadly I’ve been grabbing EVERY SINGLE ONE……. Being close friends with the owner of Hijabilicious.com doesnt help either!!! Told you I have a problem.. (At least I do tend to wear most of them!!!) This is what I have managed to collect over the...

Organizing the Kitchen… Part 1 – The Pantry – Spices and all!

Posted by on Aug 27, 2013 in Em Malik's Kitchen, LoaMP, Organization | 9 comments

My new system of pantry organization is my pride and joy! Ever since we moved into this new house a year ago (not so new anymore, eh?), I have been able to keep this pretty and organized. And trust me, Im a very lazy disorganized person. If these were the same packaging the products come home in, it would be an intergalactic mess! I bought a bunch of airtight mason jars all in different sizes. And I started filling……. Look whats hiding behind these doors??? TADA!!!! c     Fill mason jar, throw away old packaging, label, repeat…   So everytime I grab a jar of these, I automatically know if I need to stock up on essentials and how much time I have left til I run out. No more trying to find that half bag of dried up...

How to defeat Mount Washmore.

Posted by on Apr 25, 2013 in LoaMP, Organization | 2 comments

My name is Samantha, and I am a procrastinator. And I have a HUGE HATE relationship with folding laundry. I have no problem buying clothes, wearing clothes, dirtying them, and even putting them in the washer/dryer isnt too bad. But folding???? Heck no!! If you follow me on my FB page, you already know that! I hate it with a passion. I wish my laundry looked this good in a pile. After years and years of having huge piles of clothes (about 4-5 loads at a time) in my bedroom gathering dust waiting to be folded, I have finally found out how to defeat mount WASHMORE! These are the steps I use to get myself going. 1- Make one huge pile into multiple smaller piles. Aka sort them out. I sort them out in either laundry baskets or just...
